Throughout our academic careers, we have seen teachers come and go as we move further up in our education. We have had those who were able to make an everlasting impression on us, and some that were complete douchebags (the ones at Hillsdale Middle School, you know who you are).  

However, the one common educator that most of my generation shared was Bill Nye: The Science Guy. Some of the best days in science class as an elementary school student were when your teacher wheeled in the TV station and pulled out a Bill Nye video tape.

After writing my last blog on “How to Keep Up With the Kardashians,” I thought it would be interesting to keep you updated on some of the current buzz going on with the youngest makeup queen of the family, Kylie Jenner.

How many of you thought that Kylie Cosmetics was the next best thing to hit the makeup world? The first Lip Kits from Kylie Cosmetics hit the internet November 30, 2015, and quickly skyrocketed the youngest Jenner sister to Forbes’ “youngest self-made billionaire” in history.

Now that she has conquered the makeup world, the young, reality TV star has made her way over to a different area of beauty and has launched her new skincare line, Kylie Skin.

However, days before the line was set to go live, Jenner received harsh backlash from social media who voiced health concerns about her Walnut Face Scrub.

Anyone else feel that after 16 seasons, they are basically the sixth sister in the Kardashian/Jenner family? Or is it just me (I mean I fit in, my name starts with a “K”)?

In the past 12 years of “Keeping Up With the Kardashians,” they have (or momager, Kris Jenner has) changed the face of reality TV. The family is among some of the biggest faces (and butts) of entertainment today and have maintained the public’s interest in their lives without the slightest lull.

Alright party people. For this blog, we’re going do a bit of a rewind back to the period where a sis thought she wanted to be a doctor. In the time, I had the mindset of: Meredith Grey who? Okay ladies, the moment we’ve all been waiting for has finally arrived. The Jonas Brothers are back and are “burnin up” hotter than ever.

After six-long years of waiting, my generation’s all-time favorite boy band is back together and are ready to go on tour after releasing the title of their comeback album, “Happiness Begins.” Somebody give me an “S.O.S”  because the 10-year-old in me is having heart palpitations!

After writing my last blog on how celebrities are giving back through nonprofits, it made me reflect on: what more is the world of entertainment giving back to society? Are entertainment companies living up to their corporate social responsibilities?

In this past year, the media has been filled with several scandals involving entertainment and sexual harassment cases. Movie producer Harvey Weinstein, ex CEO of CBS, Leslie Moonves, ex U.S. Women’s National Gymnastics doctor, Larry Nassar and actors Bill Cosby and Kevin Spacey were all accused, and some guilty of sexual assault. Their disgusting actions became some of the most talked about incidences in 2018.
